Matt Willis is a member of the Dallas-based Celtic rock band The Killdares. Matt is an experienced piper serving the DFW Metroplex and north Texas. Matt began on the highland bagpipes in 1996 and started Mattpiper Bagpiping in 2001, and he continues to help make Texans more aware of Scottish and Irish culture and music.
For those interested in learning to play the Scottish highland bagpipe or the Irish uilleann pipes, Matt Willis offers private instruction. In addition to private students, Matt has teaches pipers from fire departments throughout the state of Texas including Dallas, McKinney, The Colony, Little Elm, Lancaster, and Sachse. Matt has also trained many members of the award-winning Silver Thistle Pipes & Drums.
Either the highland or uilleann bagpipe complement any festive occasion, such as a wedding or birthday party. They may also be used in remembrance of a loved one.
