Matt Willis has been repairing and restoring antique bagpipes since 2002, and takes a great deal of care in returning the instrument to a playable state. A full inspection is first required to make sure that the instrument is sound enough to repair and restore. In addition to restoration, Matt can also can perform maintenance on any bagpipe to get the them playing perfectly. Here is a list of maintenance items and their fees (+ means there may be additional fees depending on time/conditions):

$50 Tie-in hide bag (all 5 stocks and seasoning)

$15 Tie-in chanter stock
$10 Pipe bag seasoning
$30 Re-hemp entire bagpipe
$4 Re-hemp per joint (excludes blowpipe tenon)
$10 Blowpipe valve install, regular flapper or Li'l Mac (Li'l Mac not included)
$15+ Drone reed adjustment (all three drones)
$10+ Chanter reed setup/chanter tuning
$5 Drone cord set-up

Fees on bagpipe restoration vary greatly from pipes to pipes depending on condition and what all is needed to repair the instrument. An estimate is given at the time of initial inspection.
